Our Values

Our values guide how we work with each other and with our clients. They shape the ideas we bring to the table, the way we solve problems, and the kind of impact we aim to create. At YMC, these principles aren’t just words on a page—they’re the standard we hold ourselves to every day.

01

Curiosity

We’re lifelong learners who light up when faced with new ideas. Whether it’s a complex challenge or an unfamiliar tool, we lean in, explore, and grow.

02

Balance

Work is important. Life is too. We work hard, but we also protect time to recharge, so we can bring our best selves to both.

03

Connection

We care about people. That means treating clients like teammates, building trust, and fostering relationships that last longer than any single project.

04

Drive

We’re wired to keep pushing—toward sharper ideas, bolder work, and bigger opportunities—while staying true to our purpose.

05

Pragmatism

Progress beats perfection. We’d rather deliver great work on time than flawless work that misses the moment.

06

Impact

We want the work we do to matter. That means partnering with organizations that make a difference and leaving things better than we found them.

The Opportunity

At Young Marketing Consulting (YMC), we don’t believe in bureaucracy or chasing shiny objects. We’re a strategy-first marketing and creative consultancy that partners with organizations of every size to solve complex problems with clarity, creativity, and measurable results.

Headquartered in Arlington, VA, we balance big-picture strategy with hands-on execution, helping clients sharpen positioning, elevate brands, and build digital experiences that actually work.

As a Senior Associate, Marketing & Brand, you’ll support brand and marketing initiatives across diverse clients and industries. From shaping content to supporting campaigns and creative projects, you’ll help bring ideas to life. You’ll work closely with leadership to drive projects forward, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to work we’re proud to deliver (and happy to put our name on).

Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $60,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience
Location: Remote (hybrid option anticipated in 2026)
Benefits: Healthcare plan, 19 paid holidays, flexible vacation (yes, we actually mean flexible)

Must Have Qualifications / Characteristics:

We’re looking for someone who brings the right mindset and approach to their work. These qualities matter more to us than a checklist of hard skills or credentials:

  • Professional Experience: You bring at least 2–3 years in a professional setting. It doesn’t have to be agency experience—what matters is that you’ve learned how to thrive in a structured environment without needing constant handholding.
  • Intellectual Curiosity: You naturally ask questions, dig into the “why,” and keep up with industry trends because you enjoy it. For you, every project feels like an opportunity to get smarter.
  • Drive & Initiative: You don’t wait for someone to hand you the playbook. You spot gaps, step in to close them, and do so with humility. You want to excel without stepping on others.
  • Work Ethic & Ownership: You hold yourself accountable and care about outcomes, not just tasks. You take pride in the details while keeping the bigger picture in mind.
  • Adaptability: Shifting priorities don’t rattle you. You can move between strategy and execution without losing track of what matters.
  • Positive Attitude: You bring energy to the team, stay professional when the work is tedious, and know when a touch of levity will keep things moving.
  • Organization & Detail: Lists, calendars, clean inboxes—these are your natural habitat. You thrive on bringing order to chaos.
  • Communication Skills: You can explain complex ideas simply, shift tone between professional and creative contexts, and aren’t afraid to advocate for your work.

Nice to Have Qualifications / Characteristics:

While not required, it’s a plus if you also bring experience in some of the following areas:

  • Website Experience: you have familiarity with WordPress or other CMS platforms and can confidently make updates or support larger website projects.
  • Advertising Experience: you understand the basics of digital advertising and have exposure to systems like Google, Facebook, or LinkedIn Ads.
  • SEO Knowledge: you know how to optimize content for search visibility and understand the fundamentals of keyword use, on-page SEO, and performance tracking.
  • Analytics Experience: you’re comfortable pulling and interpreting data from tools like Google Analytics or social platform insights to measure results and guide decisions.
  • Email Marketing Experience: you’ve worked with platforms like Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar and understand how to build and send campaigns while keeping an eye on performance metrics.
  • Content Development Experience: you can create and adapt content across formats, including blogs, long-form articles, social media, or video scripting, with a focus on clarity and engagement.

To Apply to This Role

Submit the following to jobs@youngmarketingconsulting.com with the subject line Senior Associate Application:

  • Resume
  • Cover letter explaining why you’re a fit (bonus points if you include quotes from colleagues-bragging for yourself is awkward, but letting others do it for you isn’t)

Applications that don’t follow instructions will be disqualified.
